Every Dream Has a Beginning. Ours Started in a Small Garage.

Every great story begins with a dream.

For Kimkey Shrimp Seafood Boil, that dream didn't begin inside a restaurant or with a team of experienced chefs. It began in 2020, during one of the most uncertain times in the world, inside a small garage where two people believed that faith, hard work, and family could build something extraordinary.

Founders Judith and Jesus Reyes made the courageous decision to leave the security of their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic to pursue a dream that had been growing in their hearts. They had no investors, no restaurant experience, no employees, and no guarantees of success. What they did have was determination, a passion for great seafood, and the desire to create a better future for their family.

That small garage became their kitchen, their workspace, and the birthplace of Kimkey Shrimp Seafood Boil.

Built with Faith, Family & Determination

The early days were filled with long hours, hard work, and countless sacrifices.

Every seafood boil was prepared by hand.

Every phone call was answered personally.

Every order was packed with care.

Every customer was greeted with gratitude.

While raising their children, Judith and Jesus worked day and night without days off, doing everything themselves because they believed that every satisfied customer would bring them one step closer to making their dream a reality.

It wasn't easy—but every challenge strengthened their commitment to creating something truly special.

A Community That Changed Our Lives

One order became two.

Two became ten.

Ten became hundreds.

As more families discovered Kimkey Shrimp, something incredible happened. Customers began sharing their experiences with friends, recommending the restaurant on social media, and returning again and again with their loved ones.

Every review, every recommendation, every shared meal, and every word of encouragement became part of the Kimkey story.

The support of the community gave Judith and Jesus the confidence to take another leap of faith and open their very first restaurant.

Growing Beyond Our Dreams

Opening a restaurant was both exciting and overwhelming.

Every day brought new lessons, unexpected challenges, and opportunities to grow. Although they had never owned or operated a restaurant before, Judith and Jesus remained committed to learning, improving, and providing every guest with an unforgettable experience.

Thanks to the continued support of their customers, Kimkey Shrimp continued to grow, leading to the opening of a second location and allowing the family to serve even more communities throughout the Coachella Valley.

Today, Kimkey Shrimp proudly welcomes guests to both its Indio and Cathedral City locations while remaining true to the values that started everything.
